Brian
Klopotek (B.A. 1994, Yale;
Ph.D. 2004, University of Minnesota) joined the University of Oregon
faculty in 2003 in Anthropology and Ethnic Studies. His research
focuses on Native Americans of the Southeastern US, federal recognition
of Indian tribes, Indian educational history, Indian race relations,
and American Indians and the cinema. His findings on American Indian
responses to hypermasculine imagery in the cinema appear in Across the Great Divide: Cultures of
Manhood in the American West (New York: Routledge. 2001).
