
Braille Services
The Adaptive Tech Lab brailles documents to meet the
university's requirements of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the
Americans with Disability Act. Additionally, braille using students
registered with SSD may have course related work brailled.
- Braille service must be authorized by the Adaptive
Technology Access Advisor or the Counselor
for Students with Disabilities.
- Documents to be brailled must either be pre-formatted in
ASCII or MS Word 6 or 7.
- Files may not contain images, photos, sounds, or graphics
(decorative or otherwise).
- Essential tables, graphs, or charts must be converted by
the document author into a descriptive text format.
- Until further notice, the Adaptive Tech Lab will braille
pre-formatted files of up to twelve Braille pages at no cost. Jobs exceeding
twelve Braille pages total will be cost estimated on a per job basis.
Most small jobs can be done in five business days. Larger job
completion times will be estimated on a per job basis.
