BA, California State University, Sacramento; MA, University of California, Davis; PhD, University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. Author of Gender and the Poetics of Excess: Moments of Brocade, Split-Gut Song: Jean Toomer and the Poetics of Modernity, and articles on American poetry and poetics.
