Star-Spangled Banner
by John Stafford Smith/arr. by Livingston Gearhart, edited by Fritz Gearhart

A beautiful arrangement of our national anthem that offers fresh romantic harmonies and a vivid orchestration. Published by Ludwig Music Publishing Company. [Sound File Download]

"...this work is challenging and intricate with Romantic harmonies in rich orchestration. In the middle section, four percussionists depict the explosions of battle under a lush melodic line in the strings. The final verse builds to a full, thick orchestration for the ending. This arrangement is a necessary addition to a music library." (The Instrumentalist/January 2007)
