The following abbreviations are used in the titles:

R = Russia or Russian
H = History
E = East or Eastern
W = West or Western

In these citations, a number that follows a comma is a volume number.

Following a semicolon are pages.

Within parentheses are chapters.

Examples:

Kliuchevskii,1(5) = His book A Course, volume 1, chapter 5
Riasanovsky(1)    = His book A History..., chapter 1
Sumner(IV,2)      = His book Short History, section 4, ch.2
VSB,1:7           = VSB, volume 1, page 7

Numbers that follow a citation without punctuation indicate edition, in the following style:

DMR2:11           = DMR, second edition:page 11
