Welcome to the Lonergan Group web site. We are interested in charge transfer processes at electroactive interaces. In particular, we exploit the unique chemical properties of "new" materials to control charge transfer processes in novel ways and to develop unique platforms for addressing fundamental questions. A practical impetus for our work comes from the central role electroactive interfaces play in devices for the generation, storage, and manipulation of electrical energy: e.g. photovoltaics, batteries, and transistors. The importance of chemistry to a wide range of modern technologies also motivates many of our educational efforts.

We are grateful to the National Science Foundation, the Dreyfus Foundation, the Beckman Foundation, and the University of Oregon for their current and past support of our activities.
