Complete CV BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION Christina Steiger received her B.A. (with Honors) in Physics in 2001 from University of Chicago and received her Master's in Economics from the University of Oregon in 2005. Prior to entering the Ph.D. Program at UO, Steiger taught geography,science and mathematics at a private high school in Mount Shasta, California,and was employed as an IT manager for BancCorp USA in Chicago. RESEARCH INTERESTS Steiger intends to specialize in macroeconomics and economic growth and development. Current research focuses on endogenous institutions in models of economic growth, and on the role of adaptive learning in growth models. PAPERS Work in progress: "Institutions and the Rural-Urban Gap in Developing Countries," with Bornali Bhandari."Endogenous Property Rights in a Model of Economic Growth" TEACHING EXPERIENCE Steiger has independently taught Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory and Problems and Issues in Developing Economies. She has served as a teaching assistant for : Principles of Macroeconomics, Contemporary Economic Issues, Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory, Introduction to Econometrics, Games and Decisions, and Multinational Corporations . Responsibilities have included grading of homework sets and examinations, as well as teaching discussion sections and review sessions. OTHER INTERESTS Steiger is fluent in French, has a basic understanding of Spanish, and has studied German and Italian.
