The Help Desk (was Microcomputer Services) provides software, operating system and account support to the UO community. Our mission is to enhance the computational satisfaction of faculty, staff, and students by providing knowledgeable advice, troubleshooting and problem resolution.


  • NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
  • Required PAC Change
  • Beginning August 20, Duckweb will ask you to change your PAC once when you log in. This one-time PAC change is part of a larger effort to improve Duckweb security.

  • New Accounts
  • New students may claim their Duck ID accounts for access to email, wireless, Blackboard, free antivirus and anti-spyware and more. For assistance with claiming your Duck ID, see the video tutorial or contact the Help Desk.
  • Phishing Warning
  • Recently, university students, faculty and staff have received email messages asking for personal information. The university will never ask for information such as your date of birth or password in an e-mail message.
  • Do not respond to e-mail that asks for personal information. They are phishing scams. For more information on phishing, see OnGuard Online.
  • Avoid Filesharing Software
    We strongly discourage the use of peer-to-peer filesharing software such as Gnutella, LimeWire and BitTorrent to exchange files covered by copyright. For more information, see The Perils of Filesharing.
