| Mike Copperman has an MFA in fiction writing from the University of Oregon, though sometimes he can't get a semi-colon to stand right side up. From Eugene originally, he'd been gone six years before coming back to graduate school, the last two teaching fourth grade in the (black) public schools of the Mississipi delta. These days, he teaches Akido to at risk kids in an after-school program at Caesar Chavez Elementary, and does his best to mentor a ten year old kid who lost his dad two years ago (which mostly involves pretending he knows half as much about airplanes and rockets as the kid). He's honored to have the priviledge of joining the OMAS staff. |
