BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Silke Friedrich received a Vordiplom in Economics from University of Konstanz (Germany) in 2003. Prior to entering the Ph.D. Program at the UO, Friedrich was an exchange student at the UO during the academic year 2004/05.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Friedrich specializes in political economics and international economics. Current research focuses on the evolution of economic rent-seeking and the role of demographics for voting for trade. Friedrich has wider interests in game theory and development economics.

Abstract

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Friedrich has independently taught Introductory Microeconomics (Econ 201). She served as a teaching assistant for Econometrics (Econ 420), Introductory Macroeconomics (Econ 202), Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory (Econ 313), Issues in Industrial Organization (Econ 360), and Money and Banking (Econ 370). Responsibilities as TA have included teaching discussion sections and review sessions, as well as grading of homework and exams.
