Welcome to the Mathematics Department!

Our research specialties are in algebra, analysis, geometry, probability and topology.

The American Mathematical Society has ranked us in the top group of U.S. research departments in Mathematics. We are the smallest math department from a public university with this rating.

We also pride ourselves in the quality of our undergraduate teaching and our thriving graduate program.

There are about thirty faculty members and fifty graduate students in the department.

The 25th annual Oregon Invitational Mathematics Tournament will be held in our department on May 9, 2009.
