The nationally recognized Brain, Biology and Machine Initiative (BBMI) is one of many interdisciplinary research effort at the UO. BBMI is designed to help scientists better understand the brain's anatomy as it relates to thought and behavior. The program has drawn more than $40 million dollars in sponsored research since 2000. Helen Neville conducts research in brain development and neuroplasticity as part of the BBMI.
