University Health Center
Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANEs) are specially trained nurses that provide forensic evidence collection. Having a SANE exam preserves all options for the survivor while still allowing them to be cared for at the student health center.
Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners can:
-Collect evidence
-Provide free treatment for STIs and other medical issues
-Provide emergency contraception within 120 hours (5 days).
-Test for “date rape drugs” (Ideally within 12 hours).

Advocacy and Support
Office of Student Life
Staff members who are highly trained in the issues related to sexual violence are available to help you from this office. Outside of their normal, 8-5 operating hours, you can call the Department of Public Safety’s Dispatcher at (541) 346-5444 and ask to have them contact an advocate in the Office of Student Life. The Office of Student Life offers support for survivors of sexual assault and partner violence and can also refer you to other resources on and off campus.
The Office of Student Life networks with many other campus and community organizations that offer services to survivors of sexual assault, stalking, partner violence, and sexual harassment. When meeting with a staff member, you can also talk about what options you have in reporting the offense with the University or the Eugene Police Department. Your advocate will support your decisions regarding how or if you officially report the offense. It is your choice as to what resources you use and whether you report it; your advocate is there to help make sure you know what all your options are.
