Men’s Center


The Mission Statement of the University of Oregon Men’s Center [UOMC] is to promote the emotional, social, and physical health of men. The Philosophy of the UOMC is to support the full spectrum of men, across developmental needs, age, class, sexual orientation, & culture.  The UOMC is also devoted to promoting healthy & nurturing relationships with other men, women, and the campus community.  

Goals of the UOMC

  • Increase college men’s ability to lead healthy lifestyles by exploring how the male socialization process influences their behavior.
  • Reduce the likelihood of violence, conduct problems, sexism, sexual assault, bias crimes and other crimes against groups traditionally harmed by men.
  • Promote understanding among current and future service providers, of how to engage men in dialogues and other interventions to reduce men’s damage to themselves and others and to increase help seeking.
