PROFESSIONAL CONNECTIONS/SHADOW MENTOR DAY FIRMS

Eugene:
1. Cameron, McCarthy, Gilbert & Scheibe
This firm specializes in campus development, creative storm water and sustainable environmental design, refined design integration of hard-scape and soft-scape details. On the day of the visit wear clothing for site visits.
2. Satre & Associates
A full-service multi-disciplinary firm offering planning, landscape architecture, and environmental consulting services to public and private clients throughout western Oregon.
3. Schirmer Schlesinger & Associates
Commercial, housing, institutional, medical, memorials, parks, planning,
residential and urban design
4. DLA Inc.
This firm specializes in all aspects of Landscape Architecture form public works to residential design including LEEDS projects, streetscapes, higher education and schools. David Dougherty will be the mentor and his special interests are urban and ecological design.
The students visiting DLA will need to call the day ahead to see what attire should be worn for their visit.
5. Pelliter & Pelliter
This firm specializes in landscape architecture and interior design.
6. Kate McGee Landscape Architect
Residential

Portland:
1. Koch Landscape Architecture
Steven Koch specialties are urban design and courtyards.
He suggests being prepared for bad weather.
2. Legacy Health System
The student(s) that visit with Teresia Hazen will be learning about Therapeutic gardens and rehabilitation programming in healthcare.
The special instruction she has given is: “Be well to visit.”
3. MacDonald Environmental
This firm’s specialty is sustainable, healing environments and housing.
4. Mayer/ Reed
This firm deals with a range of projects from campus and park design to urban design on high density mixed use.
5. MIG, Inc.
This firm’s specialty is creating organizations, environments and
tools for human developments.
6. Nevue Ngan
This firm’s specialty is streets, parks and campus design.
They will take you on site visits of their projects.
7. Portland Office of Transportation
8. Portland Parks and Recreation
Students will get to follow numerous mentors so they can
experience different aspects of this department.
9. Samuel H. Williamson Associates
This firm focuses on high-end, custom residential with interests in contemporary and historical design, garden history and detailing.
10. Walker Macy
This firm will take the visitors on tours of projects close by. There is a project that is under construction that will be visited so dress casually and be prepared for mud.
If there is a project of theirs that you would like to see, let them know because they would love to take you on a site visit there, as well.
11. W&H Pacific
Land Development is what this multi-disciplinary firm is involved in. They do resort/mixed use developments, residential, retail/commercial, office, industrial and sustainable design. There are no special instructions on attire at this time so the student(s) that visit this firm should call the day before and inquire about what the activities of the visit will be.
12. Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation
They focus on parks, trails and green space.
The students will get to visit 5 mentors throughout the day.
On the day of the visit Lisa Gorriian suggests wearing field cloths.
13. Viridian Environmental Design
A small firm that will take one student on site visits of projects in and around town with some of those being their projects.

Seattle:
1. Charles Anderson Landscape Architecture
This is a Landscape Architecture firm with interests in urban parks, museums,
native plants and urban ecology.
This firm is going to be moving their office and there might be a possibility
that they will not be able to participate.
2. Site Workshop
This firm specializes in civic, campus, healthcare and park design.
