Wendy Larson specializes in modern Chinese literature, film, and theory.
Some of her recent works include Literary Authority and the Chinese
Writer:
Ambivalence and Autobiography (Duke University Press, 1991); Women and Writing in Modern China (Stanford University Press, 1998); a co-edited volume with Anne Wedell-Wedellsborg, Inside Out: Modernism and Postmodernism in Chinese Literary Culture (Aarhus University Press, 1993), and a translation, introduction critical analysis of Bolshevik Salute: A Modernist Chinese Novel by Wang Meng (University of Washington Press, 1989).
She is currently working on a project that investigates the relationship between sexuality and the Cultural Revolution during the post-Mao era. From 2002 to 2005, Wendy Larson will serve as Associate Dean of Humanities in the College of Arts and Sciences.
