About ICNC

ICNC promotes career development activities by offering resources to both international and domestic students interested in opportunities both locally and abroad. ICNC works specifically with the UO Career Center, Alumni Association, and Office of International Programs to provide students with a wide range of activities to advance their career search. Every year, the UO enrolls approximately 1200 international students and approximately 1,000 students go abroad all over the world. With such a large number of students interested in the international arena, ICNC is excited to help them pursue their future careers!

History

The ICNC was formed in 2004 by Take Momiyama, the ASUO International Student Advocate, who saw a need for a group that could specifically help international students pursue U.S. based careers. Today the ICNC is focused on advancing every student’s entrance into the global work force. Since then ICNC has evolved and changed by trying new things each year in an attempt to best serve students.

In 2005 ICNC hosted two career preparation workshops with the Career Center, which taught students how to write a resume, improve their interview skills and apply for a work VISA. As well it hosted the annual Alumni Networking Luncheon that gives students and alumni the opportunity to interact and exchange advice.

In its third year as an establish committee, the ICNC hosted an Introduction Event, an International Open House at the Career Center, a bi-monthly international events e-newsletter, various fundraising projects, and the third annual Alumni Networking Luncheon.
