Storage Walls

The Herman Miller collection

The Herman Miller Collection. (Grand Rapids, MI: The Herman
Miller Company, 1952).

Manufactured elements such as those designed by Charles Eames and George Nelson made it possible for apartment dwellers or homeowners to create storage walls where none existed. The flexible modular units could be configured to meet the specific storage needs of an individual. Their industrial appearance reinforced the idea of a modern aesthetic.
