Pantries

Variety of sizes shows contents

House Beautiful. 50:5 (November, 1921): 392.

The use of glass-fronted cabinets was not the only way of disclosing the contents of pantry storage. By using a variety of sizes of cabinets and drawers, all types of goods related to food service and consumption could be accommodated. Shallow drawers such as the ones seen here held linens and silverware in a manner that made them easy to store and easy to find. Similarly, the spaces inside glass-fronted cabinets could be subdivided using cup hooks and smaller shelves for items that did not occupy large spaces, making them easier to locate when needed.
