The 1915 Weis cabinets for music and recipes

Ladies' Home Journal. 32:12 (December, 1915):88.

Additional types of storage cases incorporating elastic filing systems also made the early twentieth-century middle-class American house more modern. Recipe index files such as those made by the Weis Manufacturing Company replaced cookbooks or scrapbooks assembled by homemakers. Sheet music, disk records and player piano rolls could also be arranged in specially-designed cases that held them safely and conveniently.
