The 1923 Sellers cabinet

Good Housekeeping. 77:5(November, 1923): 120.

Even when builders included built-in kitchen cabinets in newly-constructed kitchens of the 1920s, they sometimes left room for portable kitchen cabinets to be included. They perceived this as a cost-saving feature since homeowners had to purchase the cabinet themselves. This approach also relieved builders from having to construct cabinets with specialty storage features such as bins and racks.
