Here's an important OCLC report on the role of libraries in coordinated, integrated e-learning environments. At the University of Oregon Libraries, we recently reorganized with this goal in mind. The new structure intentionally brings together librarians, instructional designers, information architects, media developers, IT professionals, and classroom technologists. Whether in team-based approaches to specific projects or in shared planning and delivery of ongoing services, our respective sets of professional skills are highly complementary.
