Tech Therapy podcast (Chronicle of Higher Ed)

A conversation with Warren Arbogast, hosted by CHE senior reporter Scott Carlson. This inaugural podcast discusses network security in the context of campus culture. There's a perception among presidents and provosts that security means protection from outside threats, when in reality the greatest risks are internal. Having all the patches doesn't solve the people problems. I liked Warren Arbogasts's point that this isn't necessarily a resource problem -- on the campuses he visits, the right smart people are available and there's budget for the gear. The challenge is coordination & communication across the "adhoc-racies." The big takeway is for technology leaders to get the conversation going with presidents, provosts, and deans in language they understand, then work collaboratively to develop realistic shared expectations.
