10 most dangerous organizations in America

I almost never listen to talk radio, but tuned in Air America one day last week while stuck in traffic and heard this item featured on the Randi Rhodes show. Note especially #2, Universities and Colleges. Perhaps ACE's Solutions for Our Future campaign should start targeting conservative media to help dispel the notion that higher education is *dangerous* to our national security, when in fact it is *essential.*

I have to wonder why the list doesn't include those radical, militant, FBI-kicking members of the American Library Association?

The Ten Most Dangerous Organizations in America

By Jason Rantz

.....snip...

Based on their effectiveness of disseminating propaganda, here are the ten most dangerous organizations in America:

10) Think Progress

9) Muslim Student Association

8) CodePINK

7) American Civil Liberties Union, National

6) Family Research Council

5) Center for American Progress

4) League of the South

3) MoveOn.org

2) Universities and Colleges
Anyone familiar with my column at Family Security Matters knows my thoughts on the Left’s stranglehold on American colleges and universities. Unfortunately, many professors use the various organizations on this list as a part of their curriculum, often selectively ignoring facts that don’t support their far-Left agenda.

That's crazy. I wonder whose "listener base" is bigger, Universities or Fox News?

Great question. According to the Project for Excellence in Journalism, in 2005 Fox News had 1.59M viewers during prime time and about 900K during any given moment during the day. See this report.

According to the NCES Digest of Educational Statistics for 2006, "College enrollment hit a record level of 17.5 million in fall 2005. Another record of 17.6 million is anticipated for fall 2006." Degree-granting institutions also employed 3,379,087 faculty and staff (full and part time). Added together, this is almost 21 million people directly involved in the higher education enterprise. And how about alumni? The US Census Bureau says that there are approx. 191 million Americans over the age of 25, and 27.6% of them have a a bachelors degree -- almost 53 million people.

So, the constituency for colleges and universities is far bigger than the number of Fox News viewers at any given time; however, Fox News has excellent access to the media. ;-)
