Viewing Simulations

The major results of simulation runs are presented in two graphs: "Population Size vs. Time", and "Deaths vs. Time". These graphs are updated every display interval. Both of these graphs may also be viewed in spreadsheet format.

The Population Size vs Time" graph displays the number (or proportion) of individuals in different population categories through time. To switch from percentages to numbers, or vice-versa, click in the dark gray area immediately to the left the graph (on the scale for the y-axis)

The "Deaths vs. Time" graph displays the number of individuals dying each time interval. It displays both the number of "natural" deaths, and the number dying from the disease.

If you watch the above graph of population size or mortality as the simulation runs, you will notice that they automatically re-scale whenever necessary. It may take you several runs to get used to the unexpected sudden changes in the shape of these graphs that occur during re-scaling.

At times you may want to simplify the "Population Size vs. Time" graph by only displaying values for a subset of the available population categories. By choosing the "Display..." command from the "Trials" menu, you can select the appropriate subset to display. [NOT YET IMPLEMENTED!!]
