The Department of Chemistry offers programs of study leading to the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree and the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in chemistry. Students may pursue study in biochemistry in either degree program.

The Bachelor of Science degrees are specifically designed for training the professional chemist or biochemist. With a bachelor's degree in chemistry or biochemistry the student will be well prepared to enter directly into a career in industry or government, or to undertake graduate level studies. The biochemistry program is strongly recommended for students seeking admission to health profession careers.
