Applying to the Kidd Tutorial
The best candidates for the Kidd Tutorials are those who are motivated to develop their writing and their literary craft through serious intellectual engagement—and who, as a rule, are already experienced in university-level writing workshops. Applicants must have taken one Intro and one Intermediate CRWR course in the genre for which they are applying and have received a mid-B or higher. We encourage applicants to take classes in multiple genres at the Intro level.
Our most successful applicants have taken an Intro to Fiction and Intro to Poetry as well as two Intermediate courses in the genre for which they are applying.
For questions about the Kidd Tutorials, please contact the Director, Professor Laurie Lynn Drummond, or Kidd Fellow Michelle Peñaloza at any time during the year.
