Mission Statement: The Forest Team seeks to educate students and the public about the characteristics of the old growth forests at HJ Andrews Experimental Forest, to show people how management practices are guided by scientific research, and to share our wonder and awe for this ecosystem

--------------------------

The Forest Team consisted of five University of Oregon Environmental Studies and Science students working in collaboration with the H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest to enhance its educational outreach programs. We created an interpretive trail brochure for the Lookout Creek old growth trail. We developed seven lesson plans that enable educators to teach students about important old growth characteristics both in the classroom and on the trail. We also guided hikes and provided in-class facilitation of our lesson plans.
