The English Department is the home of interdisciplinary programs in Film Studies at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The Department offers:
An undergraduate certificate in film studies
This Certificate can be completed by undergraduate students in any major and consists of courses in cinema history, aesthetics and theory taught by faculty in English and other departments.
Masters in English with an Emphasis in Film Studies
This M.A. emphasis prepares students for a media career or further academic study.
Ph.D. in English with a Structured Emphasis in Film Studies
This Ph.D. structured emphasis allows students pursuing literary studies to enhance their versatility as scholars and teachers by developing a secondary area of expertise in film and cultural studies.
