Archaeology students enroll for 8 credits in Workshop (ANTH 408/508). A course fee of $2700 for archaeology students, both in-state and out-of-state, covers tuition, field transportation, and food. Most tools and other materials are provided by the field school. Students are required to bring or purchase expendable personal tools (trowel and metric tape measure, for example) costing approximately $50.

Health and accident insurance is required for all students. For those who do not have it already, coverage for the period of the course, through September 5, can be obtained through the university at the time of registration for about $445 (call 1.541.346.2770 for insurance information). This year the University of Oregon Summer Session Field School for archaeology runs from June 23 through August 1, 2008.

Questions or comments about the field school should be directed to Dr. Dennis L Jenkins - .
