Christopher Minson's research is focused on two areas of cardiovascular physiology in humans. He investigates the neural and vascular interactions in the skin during environmental heat stress, with funding from the National Institutes of Health, and is also studying how natural and synthetic forms of estrogen and progesterone impact cardiovascular health and blood pressure regulation in women, with funding provided by the American Heart Association. His teaching emphasis is in the areas of cardiovascular and environmental physiology.

Dr. Minson graduated with a B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona in 1989. In 1993, he received his Master's degree in Exercise Science from San Diego State University. He then went to The Pennsylvania State University where he graduated with a Ph.D. in Exercise Science. He subsequently trained as a post-doctoral fellow at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota in the Department of Anesthesiology. Dr. Minson joined the Department of Human Physiology at the University of Oregon in 2000. He has received research awards from the American Physiological Society and the American College of Sports Medicine.

Dr. Minson is co-director of the Exercise and Environmental Physiology Labs, serves on the Board of the Northwest Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine, and the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Applied Physiology and Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise.
