Phone: (541) 346-4107Richard (Rick) Troxel walked onto the campus of the University of Oregon as a freshman in 1971 and has yet to leave. After his graduate studies he joined the faculty in 1977, teaching and serving as the head athletic trainer for women’s athletics in Physical Education Department.
In 1978, he became Associate Athletic Trainer in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. He was promoted to the rank of senior instructor in the Department of Physical Education and Human Movement Studies in 1983. He served as the Director of the Graduate Athletic Training Program from 1986 until 2001. He currently serves the Department of Human Physiology in the roles of Assistant Department Head and Director of Undergraduate Studies. His professional interests include clinical anatomy, the treatment and rehabilitation of injuries in active populations and the role of nutrition in tissue, injury, and repair. He also has a strong interest in teaching technology and the impact it has on the classroom and laboratory experience.
He suffers from too many outside interests, including backpacking, fishing, aviation, astronomy, books, music, and an insatiable curiosity about life, the world, and just about everything in it.
