Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program of
Lane County
Volunteers
advocate for children who are the subject of child abuse or neglect cases in
juvenile court. The work involves
substantial dealings with the court and child welfare system and requires a
fairly long-term commitment.
Volunteer training provided.
Required
training, sessions begin throughout the year.

County District Attorney Victim Services Program – Domestic Violence
Related
1) Restraining Order Unit -- Volunteers help people obtain domestic violence restraining orders or stalking orders -- filling out forms, providing support through the court process, and making referrals to social service agencies.
10 hours of required training. Work at least 4 hours per week.
Particular relevance: Family dissolution
2) Family Violence Advocates (part of the Court Advocacy Unit) -- Volunteers help victims of family violence go through the criminal process, from the time of the initial police report through resolution of the case.
Required
training. Work at least 8 hours
per week. One-year commitment.

Volunteers assist children who are victims of crime. Most cases involve physical or sexual abuse. Volunteers provide assistance to the child and family from investigation through resolution.
