Chuck May, PhD Philosophy "Our program trains you in the real-world knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in the industrial research laboratory." Feedback from the internship host companies has been overwhelmingly supportive of our unique education system. Program Overview The program begins summer term with intensive course and lab work in one of four focus areas:
The course work and labs are designed to make students more effective problem solvers in the industrial environment. Emphasis will also be placed on developing student's soft skills, such as communication (oral and written), team work and leadership skills that are so critical for a successful career in industry. Students who successfully complete the course work will be offered interviews for internships at regional companies. Students selected by these companies will complete a 9-month paid internship. Internship salaries typically range from $2000-$5400/mo. During the internship, students maintain their connection with faculty via meetings and campus seminars. Academic background Through the Master's Industrial Internship Program you can receive your degree in Chemistry or Applied Physics.
