Submission Guidelines
InterNationality is a professional, peer-reviewed, online publication of theoretically significant, empirically grounded scholarship on major issues in international and area studies. We welcome submissions of scholarly articles based on original field research, or new lines of interpretation of existing findings. We seek work on major themes in global and cultural studies, transnationalism, international relations, environmental change, the study of major world regions, and related topics.
Book review articles should be submitted by email to ineditor@uoregon.edu, ideally as Microsoft Word attachments (although RTF and HTML formats are also acceptable). Newer Word files should be saved as .doc and not .docx files. While book review articles of all lengths will be considered if the quality of their content and academic contribution warrants review, articles of 1,500-2,000 words are ideal. Book review articles accepted for publication will be formatted according to our in-house style guide (available at http://www.uoregon.edu/~ocias/internationality), using a parenthetical citation format. Submissions should conform to our in-house style parameters.
By submitting a review of a published book, the author accepts responsibility for assuring that the piece is an original work, that it is not under review or accepted for publication elsewhere, and that it meets all ethical and legal requirements that might apply. Consistent with scholarly norms across disciplines, we encourage authors to ensure that book review comments and additional sources are relevant to current debates and cited appropriately.
Book review articles will be judged on their fit with the subject matter of the journal, quality of scholarship, value of research, and clarity of writing. We are committed to a professional, reasonable and timely review of all submissions. All final publication decisions will be made by the InterNationality editorial staff.
