OMAS Remodeling
The Office of Multicultural Academic Success is going to be remodeling its office from August 17th to September 2nd. Below is a message from our Director Audrey Cramer:
We hope you are having an enjoyable and productive summer.
The Office of Multicultural Academic Success will be closed for remodeling beginning August 17th through September 2nd. We are very excited about upgrading our student space and computer facilities and will be fully operational on September 3rd. During the closure, we will still respond to your phone calls and email inquiries AND be available for appointments if necessary. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

OMAS Hiring Front Desk Office Assistants
The Office of Multicultural Academic Success is hiring Front Desk Office Assistants for the 2009-2010 school year. Deadline for applying is Friday, April 17, 2009 at 5:00pm. To apply download the application by clicking here. Below is the job description for the position:
Duties:
Front desk receptionist duties, greeting students and answering a multi-line telephone, using the Microsoft Outlook program to schedule appointment for Academic Advisors, maintaining student files, providing clerical support for OMAS staff, and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Customer service experience
- Knowledge of basic office equipment including: computer, fax machine, and copier
- Ability to multi-task
- GPA of 2.50 or higher preferred
- Work Study is required for Fall 2009, Winter 2010, and Spring 2010
- Excellent communication & people skills
- Flexible Schedule
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strongly encourage prospective applicants to attend the Career Center workshop, Five Keys to Succeed in the Application Process, April 8, 2009, 3-4pm, 100 Hendricks Hall. Insider tips to help you complete your application for the OMAS front desk position. Information shared can also be used for internship/job searches and graduate school applications in the future.
- Training for the position will occur in the week before Fall 2009 classes begin, September 21 – 25, 2009 and is MANDITORY.

Reach for Success 2009 Applications
The Office of Multicultural Academic Success is gearing up for the Reach for Success 2009 Program which takes place on Saturday, April 18, 2009. The registration deadline is March 13, 2009 by 5:00 PM. Parents and teachers can register their students individually or as a class. Registration forms can be found on on the Reach for Success page.
