Possible Areas for Collaboration Among
Programs Offering CPD Programs

There are two obvious areas for OTEC activity.
- Development of some recommendations for IT knowledge
and skills that all teachers should achieve before they
are awarded a Continuing License. These might, for
example, be aligned with the ISTE recommendations on
National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers
(which are aimed at preservice teachers), but with
additions to reflect the increasing capabilities of
teachers who have been on the job for a number of
years.
- Sharing of coursework among the 12 Continuing
Licensure programs. For example, this might be done
through Distance Learning units of study and/or full
length courses.
