- Southern Oregon University Summer Master's Program
Earn your Master of Arts degree over three summers in beautiful Guanajuato, Mexico!

Join SOU for a unique, intensive program specifically designed to meet the needs of middle school, high school and community college Spanish teachers. This summer program combines courses on language acquisition and pedagogy with language and culture courses to allow you to improve both your language proficiency and cultural understanding while becoming a better teacher.

- Amherst College Workshop for High School Japanese Teachers
The Japanese Language Program at Amherst College invites teachers of Japanese to participate in a workshop for studying Japanese language grammar and its instruction at the high school level. The workshop will take place over the course of two weeks and each participant will receive a stipend of $1,000 plus room and board on campus. This workshop is supported in part by the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations.

- New Distinguished Awards Program Opportunity 2010-2011
This program offers fellowships to highly accomplished U.S. and international teachers. Selected participants will receive a grant to study at a university, conduct research, teach classes and workshops, and develop a capstone project pertaining to their field of educational inquiry during a semester overseas. This year's participating countries include: Argentina, Finland, India, Israel, Singapore, South Africa, and the United States. Deadline for applying to the Distinguished Awards program is January 15, 2010. *Additional countries may be added prior to the January 15th deadline.

- Master of Education in World Language Instruction -
When you enroll in the Master of Education in World Language Instruction program, you’ll enjoy an innovative mix of online learning and on-site classes and observations at Concordia Language Villages in Bemidji, Minnesota.  Combining theory with practice, you will “live the Language Villages experience” and find new ways to make language come alive for your students.

As members of a cohort, program participants will form a learning community providing support to each other throughout the program.  You will share ideas, ask questions and discuss relevant issues and concerns in second language teaching and learning. - Research Assistant Positions at the University of Oregon -
The Center for Applied Second Language Studies (CASLS), a National Foreign Language Resource Center, seeks to establish a pool of qualified applicants to fill part time, temporary, and/or emergency academic positions. These candidates would assist the center with grant-funded research and development projects. This work will relate to language teaching and learning and may include conceptualizing, developing, and verifying the efficacy of practical language learning tools or developing technology-based tools for language learning and testing.

- Teaching Positions at the University of Oregon -
The Department of Romance Languages seeks to build a pool of qualified applicants for possible instructional positions in French, Italian, and Spanish (lower and upper-division language and culture classes and upper-division literature classes). Positions are non-tenure-track and may be part-time, temporary, or of limited duration not to exceed one year without further competitive search. Screening of applications will take place as positions become available and continue until positions are filled.

Applicants must have a M.A. in the relevant Romance Language or related field. For upper-division literature and culture courses, a Ph.D. is required.
