INTRODUCTIONS AND LIBRARY TOUR

Class will meet at 3:30 p.m. in 375 Grayson for introductions and a review of course assignments, and then adjourn to Knight Library's Reed Seminar Room (Room 235) for a session on online library tools conducted by History Librarian Heather Ward.  There are no readings assigned for this class session, but students are strongly encouraged to prepare by previewing the writing assignments for this course and investigating as many of Knight Library's online resources as possible.

Begin with the library's web page at:

http://libweb.uoregon.edu/.

I especially encourage you to try using the following indexes:

  • America: History and Life (for U.S. History)
  • Historical Abstracts (for everything else)
  • Expanded Academic Index
  • Worldcat

And be sure to check out Heather's guides to history research at:
