Campus Monsters
Daily Emerald by Jill Aho 4/17/08 Students may have seen animated piles of garbage roaming campus Wednesday afternoon as part of RE.act, an Allen Hall Advertising campaign. The "monsters" will return Thursday afternoon in an effort to inform students about the University's commitment to sustainability. |

The monsters are part of a larger campaign AHA designed for Steve Mital, the University's sustainability director, to raise awareness about sustainability and promote recycling. AHA is also planning to unveil a View-Master campaign in the next few weeks to give students a chance to see what the campus could look like if sustainability efforts are stymied. AHA is designing reels to go in the View-Masters, Fisher-Price toys which hold round reels, usually of movie stills, that can be viewed and turned.
AHA hopes the View-Masters will show students that the choices they make have an effect on the campus as a whole and will provide a call to action.
"We're working for the greater good," said Tyler Kirsch, co-project director for the campaign.
