The world is evolving daily and it is important for recycling programs to grow with the changing world. This section presents current events in waste management and other environmental issues of interest.
The UO formed a writing group with other waste management professionals in Lane County, Oregon. The group meets annually and brainstorms article ideas and then each of us get an assignment. The group sends an article a month to the local newspaper and these waste management related articles are featured in a monthly newspaper insert called "Home and Garden". This has been a successful effort which has been useful in educating folks on campus while spreading the news to the local community. These articles are included in this section along with other articles or newsworthy items that come our way.
Additionally, Campus Recycling works with the media on a regular
basis to promote program successes and also provide educational information.
The media is a powerful tool not only to get the word out but to keep in touch
with the world around us. Enjoy this information and other newsworthy items
are always welcome. If you have an article or publication you would like included
in this section, please contact us at:
