Simple Data Analysis
This website is designed to provide an initial, simple analysis of a string
of data for a set of years to determine whether a policy (or other influential)
change at some point in time caused a change in that indicator. The
program provides:
-
a graph of the data,
-
a list of the data you entered, and
-
summary statistics.
These are designed to help you determine what impact, if any, the policy
change had on the data of interest.
For example, you could put in CFC emissions from 1979 to 1997 to see
if the Montreal Protocol to Protect the Ozone Layer signed in 1987 actually
led to any reduction in CFC emissions.
Example output for the Montreal Protocol.
I would appreciate any feedback you might care to give me on how this
program can be improved - rmitchel@uoregon.edu.
