NEW Announcements

11/18/01 Here's the info about the video about Kip Kinkel we saw last Tuesday:
The killer at Thurston High (2000) Videotape #05582

11/06/10 - Someone asked in class today about the difference between delusions and hallucinations in schizophrenics. Courtesy of your textbook (Westin, 2001), here's the answer:
Delusions - false beliefs firmly held despite evidence to the contrary
Hallucinations - perceptual experiences that distort or occur without external stimulation.
11/04/01 - The publisher's webpage for the 3rd edition of the textbook is up and working. Check it out -- all sorts of groovy stuff, including practice quizzes. Click here

11/02/01 If you are interested in seeing more of the videotape about "Genie" that we watched in class last week, it is available from the Knight Library:

Secret of the wild child (1994) Videotape #02995

10/02/2001 (today's date is the same backwards and forwards -- pretty cool, huh?) - There is a typo in your textbook on p. 19. The 5th sentence of the first pparagraph SHOULD read:

Selection of organisms occurs "naturally" because organisms endowed with features that help them adapt to their particular environmental circumstancs, or niche, are MORE likely to survive and reproduce.

9/26/01: Remember: No discussions sections for 202 this week (Sept 24-28). Discussion sections start next week (Oct 1-5). (If you are in a FIG, your "College Connections Course" DOES meet this week.)

9/19/01: Welcome to Psychology 202! Please check the webpage for announcements regularly. In order to receive emails about the course, you should update your email address in Blackboard. Go to http://blackboard.uoregon.edu. Once there, if you DON'T already have a Blackboard account, click on "Create acount" and follow the directions. Then, once you have an account, login and go to the site for Psych 202 (under "My Courses" - it should be listed, if you are registered for this course). Once there, click on Student Tools, then click on Personal Information, then choose Edit Personal Information, and change your e-mail info. NOTE: Proofread to be sure you typed it in correctly.
