Teacher Help Project Wealth Distribution Measuring Money Introduction Page
Introduction

Money. What is it? How is it measured? Who has it? Who doesn't?

When you look around, you constantly see people making and spending money. It's all around us. Most people have a little, and would like to have more. How much money do you have? How about your neighbors? How about everyone else around the world?

But how is wealth really measured? Almost every country in the world has a different kind of money system. How do we compare these systems so that we can understand how much money they really have, compared to everyone else.

We are going to investigate money and look at world wealth distribution. Specifically, we want to see which countries have money, and which ones don't. By the end of this web quest, you will be able to explain how money is measured from country to country and describe who has it and who doesn't. Better yet, you will be able to explain what it means to be rich and what it means to be poor.
