Biographical Information

Prior to entering the Ph.D. Program at the UO, Silke Friedrich was an exchange student at the UO during the academic year 2004/05 and received a MA in Economics in 2006. Friedrich received a Vordiplom in Economics from University of Konstanz (Germany) in 2003. During the academic year 2002-2003, Friedrich took classes at the University Paris Descartes and worked for the OECD, first as an intern, then as a task consultant.

Research Interests

Friedrich specializes in political economy issues and international economics. Current research focuses on the evolution of economic rent-seeking and the role of demographics for voting for trade. Friedrich has wider interests in game theory and development economics.
