Traditional medicine, by contrast, usually seeks to augment the bodies ability to heal by suppressing the symptoms of the illness. The tools of traditional medicine are drugs and surgery.
Natural medicine teaches that we are our own best doctors. Nobody knows your body better than you do. The body is interconnected, what happens in one system dramatically effects other systems.
When looking at genetics, traditional medicine teaches that we are helpless to change our genetic destiny, ie, if you are born with a certain gene, you will get a particular illness. Natural medicine, on the other hand is a little more forgiving. It teaches that we are all born with genetic strengths and weaknesses. When the weaknesses are stressed, they break down and disease develops.
Each of us are different. For some, the stress of being born to a parent who smoked or took drugs can be overwhelming. Others, on the other hand, can smoke, drink a fifth of bourbon every day, etc, and live to be 95. There are no rules.
We each have to start with the condition we are in today, and make decisions about what to change and what to do to help ourselves and the ones we love.
Let's begin:
Given the following equation:
Minor Stressors + Major Stressors + Genetic Makeup = Pemphigus
It is our goal to change the left side of the equation to produce the following result:
Lack of Stressors + Genetic Makeup = Healthy Body
I am moving toward this in a series of steps, each one is designed to lighten my load of minor stressors until I am able to identify the major stressors and remove and/or correct them. My ultimate goal is to be free of Pemphigus and other auto-immune diseases and the immuno-suppressive drugs used to treat them.
What to do?
There are no universal cures for auto-immune illnesses. Many different people have tried many different treatments with varying success. I have looked at and experimented with many such treatments, and have consolidated my findings into these pages.
