-- Utilizing Adobe photoshop: Select one of the six prescanned paintings by Jan Vermeer.
1. Transform the content of the painting be over-painting. By removing content- develope relationships between various elements that is not apparent in the original image.i.e. connections made between the body and the other elements in the image - create new figures out of multiple elements.
2. Disect the image by slicing it into of vertical or horizontal pieces. Rearrange the slices to form a new and abstract figure ground relationship. Compare areas of lightness and darkness to explore figure/ground relationship.
3. Freely reconfigure, remove, add (from its own content), copy, alter, (through filtes, transformation etc..) with an aim at inverting the image from an interior to an exterior space.
