Conference Registration and Fees

On-site conference registration will begin at 9:00 am on Thursday, June 19th, in 128 Chiles. The conference fee is as follows:

  • $50 regular conference fee
  • $30 student or retired conference fee

Because of the financial support provided by the University of Oregon, the conference fee is waived for UO faculty and students. Please present your UO ID card for entrance to the conference.

Advance registrations for the conference banquet and several excursions are still being accepted on a first-come basis while space remains. To submit an advance registration, please use this form: registration3.pdf

We request that you submit a copy of this form by email (although the "Submit" button may not work with all email programs, it should be possible to save the form and email it as an attachment). Please also mail a printed copy, along with payment for conference fees, to the following address:

Checks should be made payable to the University of Oregon. We regret that no credit cards can be accepted in advance or at on-site registration

CONCERNING REFUNDS: Please note that after May 20th we will not be able to refund fees for the Saturday evening banquet, excursions, or carbon offsets. The conference fee will be refunded for cancellations made before June 16th.

The fees for the conference are explained below.

1. IAEP Membership (required for presenters):

  • $50 regular membership
  • $30 student or retired membership

All conference presenters are expected to be members of IAEP by the registration deadline (May 20th). Benefits of membership include an annual subscription to the journal Environmental Philosophy, as well as the opportunity to participate in IAEP events through the year.

3. Saturday Evening Banquet (optional):

  • $30 per person

The banquet will be held in the EMU Ballroom on Saturday, June 21st, 7:00 - 9:30. The keynote lecture by Donna Haraway will follow the meal.

The buffet-style banquet will feature local and organic foods, including a vegan spinach tortellini and grilled polenta with mushroom sauce. Local red and white wines are also included.


4. Carbon Offset Fee (voluntary):

  • $40 for nonstudents
  • $10 for students

We request your donation of this fee to fund a local carbon offset project that will balance the greenhouse gas emissions created by participant travel to the conference. For details about how this fee was calculated and the offset project that we will fund, please visit our "Sustainability" page.


5. Friday Excursions (optional):

  • H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest: $25/person
  • Eugene Alley Architecture and Ecology Tour: Free
  • King Estate Winery: $20/person

More details about each of the Friday excursion is posted on our "Excursions" page. Room for each trip is limited and will be assigned to registrants on a first-come basis.


6. Central Oregon Cascades Backpacking Trip (optional):

  • $175 per person

Arrangements for the backpacking trip should be made directly with the trip leader, Ken Liberman. Please see the "Excursions" page for more details.
