Travel to Eugene

By Air

The Eugene Airport ((EUG), also known as Mahlon Sweet Field (MSF)), is served by four air carriers: America West Express, Horizon Air, Delta Connection, and United Express. The airport is a 20 minute drive away from the conference hotels and the University of Oregon campus.

OmniShuttle offers a shuttle service between the airport and the university area for 19.50 USD per person. By Car
 
Northbound:
I-5 Northbound - take exit 192 (City Center)
Follow University of Oregon signs on Franklin Blvd.
The Days Inn is on your right; the Phoenix Inn Suites and UO campus are on your left.

Southbound:
I-5 Southbound - take exit 194B (University of Oregon exit)
Follow University of Oregon signs
Travel South on Coburg Rd.
Turn left on Franklin Blvd.
The Phoenix Inn Suites and UO campus are on your right; the Days Inn is on your left.

From the Eugene Airport:
Turn left onto Airport Rd. then right at stop sign onto HWY 99.
Take HWY 99 into Eugene. It will turn left onto 7th Ave.
When the route divides, follow the signs for the UO to the right.
Follow the road as it turns left. Two streets past the 7-Eleven store are the Phoenix Inn Suites and UO campus. The Days Inn is slightly farther on the left.


Local transportation

The conference will be held on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene. The campus is located within easy walking distance from the conference hotels. Travel directions and campus maps are available here: http://www.uoregon.edu/maps.shtml


If you are interested in exploring the town of Eugene and dining in its many fine restaurants, there is a regular bus service BREEZE between the UO (Kincaid and 13th) and downtown (Eugene Station), with buses departing every 15 min. on weekdays. Full schedule available at www.ltd.org
 
Oregon is famed for its natural beauty, and there are a number of sights worth exploring in the area, with the Oregon coast and the Cascade mountains a short drive away.  Willamette valley wineries offer delights for wine connoisseurs.  For the more adventurous, there is white water rafting on the McKenzie river, as well as numerous hiking, camping, boating, and fishing opportunities nearby. If traveling in the area, you might consider renting a car. Car rentals can be made at the Eugene airport through Avis, Budget, Hertz, and Enterprise.
