United Airlines Increases Fee for Second Checked Bag

 

United Airlines is doubling its fee for a second checked bag from $25 to $50. Fuel prices are, once again, the culprit in another decision to charge customers through a baggage policy. The charge went into effect Tuesday September 16^th, for travel beginning November 10, and applies to tickets for flights within the U.S. or to or from Canada, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

First- and business-class class travelers, along with "Premier" frequent fliers and active-duty military personnel traveling on orders will remain exempt from paying the fee.
